New Home finished!**Update**
Yppee!!!!!!! At last!!! I have finished Gills' New Home card! I'm pretty pleased with it and you know what, the white, nor the backstitch annoyed me!!! I must be mellowing! Thoroughly enjoyed stitching this, from start to finish :-)
Things are getting better here, so I'm feeling a little more human right now. After a whole days of constant trouble I was getting pretty exhausted, needless to say, It wasn't me, nor Frank that was the problem, The only trouble we ever have is when other people interefere. Humpf!!
So glad the worst has passed and I'm in a good good mood again :-)
We are also real worried about Ryan, a few weeks ago (about 6) he started twitching, like a nervous tic, blinking his eyes. It started to become more pronounced, him nodding his head when he was doing it, even though he was totally unaware it was happening.
ALSO...Last Wednesday, he has after school sports club. Well I got a phone call from his school at normal time asking me to go pick him up? I was totally surprised but assumed the class was cancelled; when I got there however, the teacher told me that Ry had Quit! I asked her to repeat as I was so shocked! And yes, he up and quit!
So we had a huge family conflab that night about how he cannot just quit his clubs, he has to discuss with us why he feels like he does and then we make a decision. I was quite shocked, he has NEVER behaved like this before.
I'm pretty much a quitter, I'm not succesful, or clever, and if I had maybe stuck at stuff when I was his age maybe I'd be better than what I am right now, We have always raised him with a sense of self worth, confidence, and quitting is just not on his agenda!
But hey, He's 7!!
Sometimes I want so much for him I forget he's just a baby really!
Do I sound like a pushy Mum? YIKES!!!!!!!!!! :-(
Looking forward to a brief shopping trip tomorrow afternoon with Mum,and my 3 hours of work tomorrow :-)
Its been great actually, being in my old routine and catching up with all my work friends, doing me the world of good!
Heres to DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just stuff!
Ryan got his scarf today in Beavers :-) here he is in his uniform He loves it, and wants to wear it out all the time! He is getting some badges next week too! They made an advent Calender in Beavers and played "Crazy football" whatever that is! He is a little put out that he only gets to go once a week, says its not fair!!
I also finished My Aunties' card today, managed to get some Green ribbon to finish it off although I have placed it a little wonky :-( Oh well!
My first day back at work went well, I was only in for 3 hours, attended a 30 minute course, and basically started to wade through my 182 emails!
Will be buddying up tomorrow and getting used to the calls again :-) Will probably be back on the phones again by the end of the week!
Was overall a good day,I have nearly completed another Xstitch birthday card, although its for a fellow blogger so cannot post the results just yet! And I even got a pink sky to snap :-)
My hand has had it, aching like mad! Am off to bed with Twilight!

The card at the moment is plain, I cannot believe I have no green sticky ribbon :-( I am planning on sewing "Auntie" in fancy script and sticking that in a corner instead.
Good Job really, as this just arrived!!!
You probably won't hear from me for days now!!

Progress and Poo weather!
Today the weather has been A W F U L !! We have had torrential rain, sleet, hailstones, gale force winds and it has been pitch black for most of the day :-(
Hence why we have not ventured past the front door! After attending to some cleaning and chores his morning, and an early online chat with Shellie, I have been able to get some sewing done. Ryan and Frank have been on their new "Tiger woods PGA" Xbox game so I haven't been given a 2nd thought!
Finished half of my AOY girl last night and completed most of her today, just need to backstitch her and sew the dove, Thats it! Although I had to improvise and give her a green dress ( I don't have much of a "pink" selction)I'm pretty pleased with the result so far.
I have a forest green card ready to mount, and some pale green ribbon for the trim :-)
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and your weather was a lot better than ours!!

N E X T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So as you can see, I've got a busy time ahead!!
My Aunties Birthday is Dec 8th so I'm sewing a little "All our Yesterdays" design for her, my friend Gill is about to move into her new home, hence the "castle" design, and of course my weary old 2 UFO's!! Its' been a long while since I had a good look at Marilyn and she needs very little doing now, Hope to sort her out ths week.
So thats the agenda! Hope I don't finish my sewing phase before these are completed! I'm a little worried I'll get so wrapped in "Twilight" when it arrives, that my sewing will end up packed away for the next few months again!

Back to work!
SO today I went and saw my nurse about my hand, she said that this pain and tingling is completly normal for at least 6 weeks following treatment. She said I'm best just trying to use it and carry on normally, and take strong anti-inflammatory medication.
So back to work on Tuesday for me!
I'm going to be on a phased return, given my problems still, that means for the first 4 weeks I'm not working my full hours.
Weeks 1 and 2 I'll work just 3 hours a day
Week 3 - 4 hours
Week 4 - 5 hours
then on to my normal 5 hours a day thereafter.
This suits me fine, in some ways I'm dreading work, but in other ways I can't wait to be back into my normal routine and be back in the swing of things.
I know full well that within 30 minutes of sitting at my desk it will be like I've never been off!
Wellllllll to HELP me back into my routine ( OK thats SUCH a lie!) I need a book for my bus journey to and from work, I have just ordered a copy of "Twilight" from the internet following all the glowing reports I've seen by other bloggers. All the reviews I've read seem 100% positive and it seems like a totally captivating read by all accounts! Can't wait!
Off with Mum for my normal "Fun Friday!"

Word verifications.
Ok, these make me grumble a little, and before you all jump down my throat, I am aware I have had one on my blog too!
BUT this is not what the post is about!
Yesterday on a Blog I'd commented on, the word verification was " SPONG"
I have no clue why I thought this word so hilarious, and still do, by the way, but it set off such a fit of giggles!
So Thank you for the giggles,I'm actually looking forward to seeing them words now!
Spong!!!!!!!!
Classic!

UFO Challenge!
Today I was in a quandry, I REALLY wanted to start a new AOY kit of a little girl with a bicycle, however I have 3 large UFO's. What do I do!
I know Mum is desperate for her large AOY picture I started about 4 years ago and haven't touched since, but I'm eager for a quick finish!
Had a chat with Shellie online this morning and she pursuaded me to get up in the loft and dig out my UFO.
So here it is!
A you can see, I don't like white! So all the white is as yet unstitched, this project needs quite a lot of work, but I'm going to do as other have suggested, tackle just one character, finish and backstitch before moving on to the next, then I'll be seeing results as I go along. I'm going to put this into practice immediatly, the little dog and boy he's with on the left hand side, are both finished, so I'll try backstitching them tonight.Wish me luck!!
Have been playing "Action man" with Ryan, he has a few of them so we've been acting out "Indiana Jones" scenes with them! Needless to say he always had "Indy"!
We went to the Scholastic Book Fair after school today, Its held for a week in the school hall. Ryan picked a Top Trumps car book and has been telling me all night how much the different luxury cars are worth and all "Interesting" facts about them!
Lads eh!
Have my hand appointment with the nurse tomorrow, and then my usual Fun Friday with my Mum and Dad.Should be a good day :-)

Special Friend and surprises!
OK, so I'm completely feeling fine today :-)
I also received a wonderfully unexpected surprise in the post!! Don't you just L O V E that!!!
I was jumping for joy!
Earlier this week I'd made comments on some of Shellies work, She had posted some lovely welsh "Love spoons", Collecting wooden spoons myself, these appealed a LOT! Also Shellie and I discovered we also share a love of Mini's! Well more Ryan really, he has loved mini's for years, and especially the original "Italian job" film with Michael Caine. He loves all the stunts the mini's perform in that film!
Soooooooo......
This is what I received!
The Love spoons charts are just divine! Going to sort through and see if I have the right thread colours in my stash! And just look at those mini spoon charms! I got so excited over them!!
So Shellie, thank you sooooo much!! Have really enjoyed our chats and looking forward to our friendship stretching into the future

(Hangs head in shame)
Ok, so I posted at 2.15 am, tired, worried and just a little frazzled!!
I now want to delete my last post, However, I won't, for the sake of those who took the trouble to comment.
Now I am realising how Self Centered and awful that post sounds.
I am alive.
Walking, talking, no diseases or illnesses, have a beautiful, healthy, clever son,Parents who love and Support me, Partner who.. well, loves me in his own way!Roof over my head, and my whole life ahead of me.What on earth am I moaning for!
Sorry you guys! And thank you for your support and kind comments :-)

Meals and moaning!
This is my lovely Mum and Dad, they are simply the best!
This was taken last Saturday in our favourite restaurant "The Riverside" in Cheshire. As the name suggests, the dining area juts out over the river,it is all glass, like a huge sunroom and in better weather the ducks come up and look at diners through the glass! Roast Duck not a good choice!
We had a lovely, relaxing meal which was the last of my Mums 60th Birthday celebrations. And I still maintain she doesn't look 60!
My Mum and dad are wonderfully supportive of me no matter what, especially this week.
Hence why I haven't posted properly in days.
I'm pretty low at the moment. Following my steroid injection, I was expecting to be cured of my RSI.
Instead, after the initial first 3 days ( Where I was anaesthetised) I am experiencing pins and needles from my fingertips to my elbow.I cannot bear anything to touch my actual thumb as I get a wave of nausea, and if any pressure is on it at all, I get a feeling akin to a mild electric shock shooting up my arm.
I go back to see the nurse on Friday so hopefully will get some advice. I need to know whether this is just a side effect, which will off, or is this likely to be permanent.
I'm getting a LOT of hassle from work. They also need this information. I saw my manager on Monday, he stated that if my hand continues to be a problem then they can dismiss me on the grounds of capability. As the RSI is due to work in the first place, I was annoyed at this suggestion!
So you can imagine whats been rolling round in my silly little head, causing sleepless nights, as well as coping daily with just one functional hand!
No Job = No Pay = Not meeting payments = Eviction and Bankruptcy.
I've worked as a Civil Servant since I left school at 17. I have No clue what on earth I would do if I lost my job. I have never NOT worked. We could not manage on one wage.
Lets just hope the nurse says this will all wear off and my hand will be Ok soon!
:-)
I'll stop moaning now!
By the way Ryan made sandwiches in Beavers tonight! He was so excited to bring them home and show us! Isn't that great giving them a little responsibility like that,Thats a big deal to a 7 year old! they had bunches of fun doing it by all accounts!

Book Tagged!!
I've been Book Tagged by Lindsay over at the cross stitch house.
The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share seven random and/or weird BOOK facts about yourself.
3. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Here are my seven book facts:
1- My fondest memories from childhood involve the "Mr Men" books by Roger Hargreaves! Obviously my brother felt the same, as he bought Ryan the full set of 43 books for his 1st Birthday! My Favourite is "Mr Tickle" and Ryans' favourite is "Mr Bump".
2- The first ever book I purchased, was at the age of 9, from the "Puffin book club" through school, and it was "Black beauty- Anna Sewell",my friend Lisa also bought it, and we sat, side by side reading it together page by page!
3- I lOVE chick lit! Good old fashioned escapism! My favourite author of this type is Jill Mansell.
4- I love horror/Thriller books, and went through phases of reading all Dean Koontz, Stephen king and Richard Laymon books. Mum used to go mad that my bookshelves in my bedroom were filled with rows and rows of black books! When I moved, and she decided to move the books on, she wouldn't take them to the church book fayre as she was so worried her friends would think me some sort of devil worshipper! They ended up in the charity shop instead!
5- I hate Shakespeare!! I studied English Lit in school, and had to study Twelfth Night 3 times, under 3 different teachers for 3 years.YAWN. This put me off for life!
6- The last book I read was "MY Booky Wook" by the Comedian Russell Brand.I had no interest in reading it ( although it was a jolly good read!) I just wanted to gaze at his pctures!
7- I'm only up to number 4 in the Harry Potter books! y Mum owns the full set, but were working our way "Slowly" through!!!
I tag the first 7 people who read this post!!
Wend....xxxxx.....
P.s. I'm completly Ignorant, and after 3 years of solid boredom, still do not know if Shakespeare has an "E" on the end!I'm also too honest!!!!

Tagged by Velda

I've been onto Velda's blog and got myself a tag!
The rules are as following:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up.
Right 6 random facts:
You all mostly know stuff as I've already taken part in this type of tag. But here goes!
1 - I have 3 tattoo's, Foot, and one on each shoulderblade, thay are small though, not LOVE and HATE across my knuckles!
2 - I have a burnt foot! When I was 3 I put my foot in the sink and turned on the hot water tap full blast, It scalded me so bad that most of the skin on top of my left foot is covered in crinkly, shiny scar tissue.
3 - I'm terrified, REALLY terrified of house spiders, The longer and more spindly the legs, the worse they are. Even dead! I cannot go near even a dead one! HOWEVER!!I'm OK with tarantula's! Here's the proof! This is me with one!
( BTW You can imagine how creeped out I was searching for this picture huh!!)
4 - I am a BIG fan of reality TV! I know I shouldn't, but I just do! I get totally wrapped in, the jungle, or the skating, or the dancing, or Big Brother, whatever it is!
5 - Any brown patches or bruising on fruit makes me gag! In fact I try to steer clear of fruit for this reason! And prefer berries rather than apples/pears etc which bruise.
6 - I would Love another child, heres hoping!
I'm not going round tagging people as it always ends uup the same ones, so the first 6 to read, you're tagged!!!

Proof!
Here is my thumb last night!
The purple dots are where the first lot of needles went in, when she was locating the tendon, then the centre mark is where the actual needle went in for the steriod to be administered.
How sad am I taking pictures of my thumb!!!
I'm bored! I can't sew! I can't cook!
You never guessed huh!!!

Ladies who lunch! ( and my shrivelled claw!)
Today I had my injections.
YIK!!!!!!!!
For those who don't know, I have tendonitis in my right hand, Currently I'm suffering with it in my thumb, which means my grip is badly affected and I get pain if I use my right hand for writing/typing/etc
I'm am currently off work because of this, but am scheduled to return on Nov 25th.
So today I had steriods injected into my tendons at the base of my thumb.
It was the strangest feeling, not entirely as painful as I'd thought, Just very very strange and tingly!
When I came out the tingle would not go, it lasted about 3 hours, now I'm just numb, totally numb like my hand doesn't belong to me! My whole hand is freezing cold too!
Weird huh! I was so dreading the actual injecting bit, I didn't give any thought to what it may feel like afterwards!
So no sewing for a while, at least until I get some feeling back anyhow!
On a lighter note, I totally had a wonderful day!
My Mum came with me for my appointment, then we headed into town, had a good old shop, and had a gorgeous 3 course lunch in this authentic French restaurant I favour.
After Lunch we dropped by Toys-R-Us before heading home for some coffee.
B L I S S !!!
Frank has been great, he has cooked dinnner, washed and dried dishes and will sort out the lunches for tomorrow!
Ryan had after-school sports today,He won his handball match! He's been telling me the Spanish he learned in school and is totally amazed that Chocolate is spelled the same in English and Spanish! ( I haven't checked yet to se if this is true!)
Watched a little "Kung Fu Panda" then he played on the computer a little!
Had a really nice day, despite the paralised hand!

Soul Food!
This is from a Post I saw over at Kimbers blog. Asking which food always puts you in a good mood and brings heartwarming feelings.
Well for me, Apart from the good old British roast dinner, My Soul Food is ...
Cheap, easy and brings memories of Dinner at Mums when I was a child, and even of Grandma, when she was alive. Proper old fashioned family food! Think the origins are Irish, but don't hold me to it!
Corned Beef Hash
Tin Corned Beef
Potatoes suitable for Mashing
Onions
Salt, pepper, oil for frying,Chili powder optional.
1 - peel, chop and cook potatoes as you usually would for mashed potato ( If you don't know how to do this, then go ring your Mum!)
2 - Gently fry chopped onions in a little oil
3 - Cube corned beef
4 - I personally add milk to make my potatoes more creamy, but add butter or whatever you usually use.
5 - Drain poatoes, add the milk to them, add corned beef and fried onion and mash using a potato masher.
6 - End up with a pan of pinkish mash!
7 - Add salt/pepper/chili powder to your own preference
8 - Spoon all mixture into an ovenproof dish, "rough up" the top with a fork, and place into a moderate oven for 30 minutes, or place under a grill until the top is browned and crispy.
9 - Enjoy!!!

Keeping Busy!
As per the Circumastances in my last post, This morning, to deal with Grief and guilt, I challenged myself to deal with the stuff I have been putting off. Thankfully, NO MORE IRONING!!
However, there is a worse job..................
T H E
F I S H !!
Yes I know I'm being unreasonable, but I can deal with most stuff, even fish poo (OK so I gag a little at fish poo!) but HANDLING the fish!! Especially the big one which needs two hands, This terrifies me, but I have to do it, who was it that had the bright idea to get them....Moi!
So I did it, cleaned them out, and fought with the big one,,eeeuuggghhh, but now they're all done until I get my next spurt!
I also dragged out, and dusted the cobwebs off so old UFO's. ( Unfinished Objects), I HAVE LOTS! They're lovely, all of them, I'm just not that patient with big projects and barely finish any.....ever!
So I got this one out, originally destined for my friend carmels' 40th ( October 2007!!) I fell ot of love with sewing when this was 1/2 done, and also used a lilac metallic on the hat of the left hand girl, which was a big mistake, and not fitting to use in this range ( I had just bought the lilac metallic and was desperate to use it at the time!) for these reasons, I didn't want to go near it.
So today, I spent my morning unpicking all of the metallic thread, and relacing it with a more appropriate purple thread, I am also working from the left hand side to finish sand and sky. Will post my progress later.
This is the picture, before I started fiddling this morning!
Will post another updated picture later! Thankfully Mum is having Ryan from school tonight ( She has him once a week, for dinner with his Nan and Grandad) and all I'm fit for at the moment is to sit and sew. The cleaning can wait 'til tomorrow!

Thank you Dear Friends.
Just a quick note to say Thank you for all your thoughts and Prayers about my Uncle Terry. You cannot imagine how much I appreciate your comments and even though most of us are 1000's of miles apart physically, I know and feel that most of you are very close right now, that gives me great comfort.
And so saying, I haven't even attended my Uncles Funeral, this is a tough, tough time for me and I feel so guilty. I had my outfit all laid out, my handbag all ready with tissues, everything prepared:
What I didn't prepare for however, was to be up at 4am with the most awful stomach upset, I'm talking both ends exploding! I'm so glad we positioned our sink within reaching distance of the toilet!
I remained curled on the freezing cold floor until Frank came in from work at 7.15am and ordered me back to bed,my insides were like a washing machine on full spin :-( I rang Mum in tears to explain, but there was no way I could attempt to get ready in that state.
Now its' 2.15pm, and the washing machine has thankfully stopped, only to be replaced by a nest of razorblades at the back of my throat and every joint aching :-( Don't you just love Flu season!
Anyway, I've spoken to Mum and the Funeral went well, they had a drink with the family afterwards and chatted about good times.
As predicted, "You'll Never Walk Alone" was as emotional as I imagined.
Night Night Uncle Terry, My Dear Godfather, may you now rest in Peace
I Love you.

Todays finishes
Got these finished today, Really not happy with the Angel at all! She's grubby, I hate working with white, this is why! Anyone have any idea's how to wash stitching? Or maybe she'll just wing her way to the bin! Am dissapointed! Happy with the little Jesus, Mary and Joseph scene though :-)

Have my Uncles' Funeral tomorrow so tissues at the ready. He was a big LFC (Liverpool Football Club) fan, so at the end, they're playing "You'll Never Walk Alone", That makes me cry anyway, on a normal day!Wish me luck!

Remembrance Day
![]()
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae
Today we attended our local Church for Remembrance Sunday, it was Church Parade for Ryan, he had to sit with all the other Beavers, cubs, scouts etc.
He got chosen to take the water up the Aisle to the Altar at Communion time, he was as proud as puch to be picked! We all wore our Poppies of course, and the traditional 2 minutes silence was held to remember those who fought and died for our Country in the First Wold War and all Wars that follow.
My Brother is currently serving in the RAF and Knows people who have died in Combat.
Please remember those who so bravely gave their lives for our Freedom.

P.s. I don't usually attend organised worship like this, I have my own private reasons for this, I did for a long, long time, and attended Church schools; now I still believe and pray, but prefer to do this privatly, I believe this is my choice and whether I worship at home or in Church is up to me!

Remember, Remember the 5th of November!
Well firework night, or Guy Fawkes night, was a great success! Ryan loved his sparklers (See photo) and got to go and see a firework display with Frank while I cleaned up the dishes after dinner! At bedtime I moved his bed, and opened his window blinds so he could fall aslep watching the fireworks over the roof tops! There are one or two advantages living in a big City! Fireworks everywhere! I can still hear loads going off now, at 10pm, they'll continue until around midnight I guess.
Hope you all had a happy and safe Guy Fawkes night!

Mounting and starting!
Today I have been busy mounting cards!! Some Christmas and Birthday cards :-)
Ryan was off school today, although he is feeling right as rain now. I kept him off as he was still very weak from all the vomiting yesterday ( Which continued up to 11.30pm last night! ) He has been completely normal today thankfully, and has eaten again! He's at Beavers right now, He has pleaded with me all day to let him go, so in the end I gave in!
He was so excited about going!
Well I've started 2 more designs today, a free "Ickle Ted" kit, which is adorable, however there are about 6 different shades of cream and beige which IS NOT good!! Hence why I have started a 2nd little design, to give my eyes a rest! I'm also doing a little angel from the same nativity series from which I did the little shepherd, I LOVE these designs!
Well tomorrow is Guy Fawkes night, or Bonfire night. This is NOT my best time of year!!!!! I have been terrified of fireworks since I was a toddler! When I was little I HAd to attend displays with my parents, so that my brother wouldn't miss out, but I spent the whole time VERY miserable with my fingers in my ears and complaining!
I am happy to say I will be up in my loft coversion with Ryan, watching the beautiful displays all around Liverpool, and not hearing a single thing!!! Bliss!!!!
Thank you all for your kind words yeaterday, Uncle Terry is down for a Post Mortem tomorrow, so his funeral cannot be organised just yet, This is an awful time for everyone concerned, waiting around, unable to do anything.
Thank you all for your thoughts and Prayers, much appreciated.

P.S. Just to top off a perfect day, Ryans' school rang at 12.15 for me to go pick him up. he had vomited 6 times, the first time all over the 4 girls he sits by in his classroom! Nice! The teacher saw me, relayed what had happened, then was off to wash 4 girls hair from vomit!
He has continued to be sick all afternoon, poor thing, he has slept fitfully for an hour and is just flopping round with a blanket.

Sad Sunday
Well firstly, today has been busy, I took myself off for some shopping, apart from a few groceries to make Stew tomorrow, I bought Christmas gifts for Ryan and my Neice ,Leah ( It was buy 2 toys, get a 3rd free!) had a nice wander around the shops.
Had a mega clean when I got back home, ironed 40 items! yes I counted every one, and gave up at 40, will do a little more tomorrow, my thumb is real bad when I iron, I need my bad thumb for the steam button :-(
Played "Guess Who" and "Pop up Pirate" with Ryan, and helped him make paracutes out of an old backpack and his baby blanket!
I also finished my Friend Mels' Birthday card, I can't post it as she looks at my Blog!
And over the last 2 days I have completed this gorgeous little shepherd, I HAVE to stitch the full set of these little nativity characters, they are so so sweet!
And onto my sad news.....
My Auntie and Uncle are both ill, These are my Godparents, My Auntie has been in Hospital for 4 weeks for a complicated bowel operation, she contracted infection in the hospital and has only just started to feel better, she was discharged yesterday. In the meantime, my Uncle Terry has become very ill, he is unable to get out of bed, and needs assistance to sip water, he took bad 3 days after Auntie Joan was admited to hospital. So Auntie Joan is now home, and after having surgery only 3 weeks ago and still very much recovering, is now caring for Uncle Terry and believes he will not see this week out.
I'm a little embarrased as this really isn't my style, but could any readers please spare a prayer for my Auntie and Uncle in this sad situation.Thank you.
